I've been 'collecting' peplum tops for a while now. I can't seem to get enough of the fit & flare look of them & the fact they hide your 'tummy' on days when you are feeling bloated :). I am loving this color combo of powder blue & white for Spring, after all it is the same color combo seen on the March issue of In Style. & if you LOVE this top as much as I do, I found it on their site for 50% less than I got it for in store!
I have been searching for the perfect pair of modern harem/track pants for a while now & was super happy to find this pair at Target! Then when the fit & length turned out to be perfect I knew I had found my new favorite pair of pants. These have the perfect amount of edge, comfort, & femininity! I am so happy the weather is warming up here so I can start wearing them constantly! :)
The cropped top is making a major come back this Spring. But for those of us who like to stay covered up or who live in climates that will still be too cool for baring mid-driff's for another few months, you can still embrace the trend by layering it over another top or dress like I've done here. The key is just to make sure you are layering it over a streamlined silhouette, or if layering it over a full silhouette, the cropped top hits you above the waist or at the smallest part of your waist in order to give you shape. I am particularly in LOVE with this one I picked up at Target for a steal. I will be wearing a lot this Spring & Summer :).
The change of seasons from Winter to Spring always seems to take forever, so to help myself get through the last 'real' month of cold, I like to start 'transitioning' my outfits by layering airy fabrics & pastel colors under chunky cardigans. This way I stay cozy while dreaming of warmer days ahead.
Every once in a while I am lucky enough to find what I call 'magical' pieces or accessories that make a more than perfect addition to my closet. This tartan plaid scarf is one such piece. I love the way it completely finishes this outfit & pulls it all together.
