The weather here in Utah decided to go back to Summer this week :( So just as I had gotten back out all my scarves, sweaters, and boots, it is back to the high 80's low 90's! Such a bummer, especially when the weather last week was so nice. Anyway, I had purchased this dress from Forever21 online at the beginning of August. I love the midi length and especially love the hunger green color for Fall. I have been dying to wear it, so now that it is officially Fall, I decided that even though it feels like Summer out, I could now wear dark this color with out feeling out of place. I compromised and instead of wearing it with booties, and a cardi or vest, I wore it with some gladiators & my hair up to keep as cool. :)
There are a handful of amazing bloggers I've found who I basically stalk, ha! whose sense of style I just love and can't get enough of! This look is a 'copy cat' of one of my fave bloggers, Caitlin of Southern Curls & Pearls. She posted a similar look to this to her Instagram a few days ago, and I thought I have pieces super similar to those I just never thought to put them together the way she has. I copy-catted her look the very next day after seeing her post! :) Sometimes when I am in a fashion creative lull/crunch/void, I will go to my Instagram and browse feeds to find inspiration. Sometimes I will do it first thing in the morning when I wake up and am still lying in bed so I can figure out what to wear that day. We really are so lucky to have so much fashion inspiration right at our finger tips!
I have been loving the cooler Fall weather we've had this week! & It has even been rainy for the past few days which has been nice. I usually start the day with my hair down, but when it's rainy out, my hair usually ends up in a messy top knot before too long. I have always looked forward to wearing scarves in Fall, they're so easy to throw on and add such great impact to most any look. This plaid, oversize blanket scarf is one of my favorites; I love how it completes this whole rainy day outfit perfectly. :)
I bought these over-the-knee boots in the N-Sale in July, and have been waiting for the weather to cool down enough so I could wear them! & it FINALLY did!! It got down into the low 60's yesterday (which was cool enough for me) & was overcast all day so I was so excited to put these beauties on! ha! One of my MOST fave outfits to wear in Fall is a tunic top, jeans & boots or booties; it's the perfect 'base' for adding a scarf, necklaces, etc. & I love how boots (yes, even over-the-knee boots) elongate your legs, and make even the most casual outfit look a little more polished.
P.S. Sorry for the floral overload lately, but like I said, it's what I've been gravitating towards this Fall, so what I've also been wearing a lot of! :)
It always feels good when my man compliments me on an outfit. Most of the time when I get dressed and ask him how I look, he gives me a half glance and says I look 'nice'. ha! (For any men out there reading this, this is not what we want to hear! trust me!) My husband though, is super patient with my outfit 'shenanigans' and puts up with a lot when it comes to all my clothes & shoes (we live in an older renovated home, so no walk-in closet, which means his closet is the hallway linen closet & coat closet). So when he made sure to tell me how much he likes this dress, I took it seriously, and decided to post it. I have found myself buying a lot of florals for Fall this year (see two posts back) & I make no apologies for it. The details of this maxi dress are just so gorgeous, the waist seam detail, lattice top, and print are just stunning. I'll warm it up with a jean jacket or this blush colored suede jacket I picked up recently, and wear it well into Fall as well. :)
